Open Earth floor restoration focuses on three main areas of expertise:
  • Polished Concrete
  • Industrial & Protective Coatings
  • Terrazzo

Defined by Merriam-Webster as: Type of flooring consisting of marble chips set in cement or epoxy resin that is poured and ground smooth when dry. Terrazzo was ubiquitous in the 20th century in commercial and institutional buildings. Available in many colors, it forms a hard, smooth, durable surface that is easily cleaned.
Services related to terrazzo: Durable repairs to holes and cracks which are undetectable when finished. Coating, coverings and glue removal. Diamond grinding. Diamond honing. Crystallization. Densification and polishing. Striping and sealing. Pet resistant finishes available. Efflorescence mitigation and treatment. Stain removal.

Defined by Wiki as: Concrete that has been treated with a chemical densifier and ground with progressively finer grinding tools. The grinding tools are usually progressive grits of diamond polishing pads. Typically, concrete is not considered polished before 400 grit, and it is normally finished to either the 800, 1500, or 3000 grit level. Stains and dyes are often applied to enhance polished concrete.
Services related to Polished Concrete: Diamond grinding and honing. Coating, covering and glue removal. Coloring and dyeing applications. Reactive staining. Decorative engraving and cutting. Integrated logos and/or designs. Consulting and product prototype testing. Joint-filling and repairs.

Related services: Epoxy coatings. Urethane, polyaspartic, and poly-urea top-coatings. Polymer overlay and mortar systems. High build broadcast systems. Extreme condition systems (extreme temperatures, chemical/UV exposure, high traffic, etc.). Decorative systems such as flake, quartz, metallic, etc. Integrated vertical systems such as cove base, cant base, and wall systems. Anti-microbial coatings. ESD systems (electro-static dissipative). Moisture mitigation systems. Consulting and evaluation services. All systems installed per ICRI ( International Concrete Repair Institute) standards.
Eco friendly options available for all offered systems, including VOC-free polymer coatings options.
